Savvy Skirts was honored to be invited back to the annual 2006 Spirit of Giving Holiday Boutique hosted by the Junior League of Palo Alto-Mid Peninsula. This year's event was at the pool house at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame, CA. Since its inception in 1993, this event has raised more than $500,000 for community projects. This year, the event was grand and so were all the hostess' from the Junior League.
We saw many of our favorite friends and customers this year, as well as met many new ones. I know I did much of my christmas shopping - just couldn't help it with all the wonderful vendors. I picked up a beautiful black with 'Savvy Skirts line green' leather trim laptop backpack from Alicia Klein (and a matching wallet too!). Ok so I thought, that is all I need - I must do some holiday shopping for others. Well we all got some great gifts at ChrisAllyn (super soft sweaters), Flying Elephants (baskets & designer home furnishings), Silver by Veronica (beautiful silver jewelry), Birch Fine Papers (cute cards and unique paper goods), Bo's Best Pancakes (great tasting all natural pancakes), and some extra super yummy sauces at Melanie's Fine Foods (you absolutely have to try the Mango Peach Chili!).
We sold many of our new Color Spa Girl Baskets, part of our newly launched Savvy Smiles program benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Also, very popular gift this show was the Emergency Girl Roadside Emergency Kit. Our new hand crafted 'pizza bags' were a big hit this year as well as many of our unique purses. We launched our new line of spa products from Not Soap, Radio, which were a big hit along with our Oh My Aches & Pains Lotion from Skin Care Solutions. Also, the colorfully great smelling Biggs & Featherbelle soaps were the big stocking stuffer & teacher gift this year. Oh and who could forget the new Oral Fixation Mints this season in: Fabulous Fruit, Green Tea Antioximints, Mimosa Mint and Jasmints - all were cute additions to any gift this season.
So much shopping and so little time! Now that its after Thanksgiving, the days are numbered for holiday shopping.....I need to go shopping myself!
