Savvy Skirts Spa Retreat - Sedona 2007

What a wonderful place to have our first Savvy Skirt Spa Retreat! Sedona, AZ is beautiful all year round, but especially beautiful in November. All of us stayed at the lovely Junipine Resort in Oak Creek Canyon - an absolute must place to visit!

Girlfriends - well honestly, we don't what we would do without each other. When you have good ones, you never let them go. We all came to Sedona with our different issues - looking to find answers to our current struggles and take a break from the grind of daily life. We all certainly took different paths to find those answers.

Some chose comfort in spiritual healers, some through climbing to extreme vortex spots, and others through deep meaninful discussions over pitchers of margaritas. I had my auric photo done and believe it or not, mine was actually pink! To complete the pinkness in our Girly chakras - some went crazy on the Pink Jeep Tours. (highly recommend the Broken Arrow/Scenic Rim Tour at 3 pm to catch the colors of Sedona at sunset). We even got one of the savviest skirts, Jen, who was just fabulous with her mad driving skills at taking us over rocks and scenic back country only available by going off road. It was an adventure of a lifetime! (PS - only 10 women drive jeeps for the Pink Jeep tours out of 66 drivers! Go Savvy Jen!)

With all the spirituality of Sedona, we did find time to worship ourselves at the spa (some of us a few times!). We also made time to relax at the Junipine and use our Sun Tea for the Eyes from Jane Inc. to refresh our eyes after a day in the dry desert, Pink Champagne Lip Balm from Not Soap, Radio to moisturize our lips with a little pink shimmer (complete with a neat little mirror all in a small compact), Green Pastel Hankies to dry our eyes after a vortex moment cathardic cry fest, and Toe Separators for a home spa polish fixer upper.

We all did a very important thing on the last night of our trip - we had a lessons learned (again over margaritas) on what expectations were met with our trip. So we all answered the following 3 questions: 1) Why did we come to Sedona? 2) What did we expect on this trip? 3) What will we take away from the trip when we go back to our daily lives? In the end, none of the psychics and healers in Sedona really did anything but tell us what we already knew - we have the power to make change happen. Even if that wasn't what we all expected to hear for our $100...it sent a very powerful message: you can't expect to find a miracle cure for all your answers. In the end, many of us were disappointed with the generic info the psychics had to offer, but during our spiritual margarita pow-wow, we were all committed to take back control of our lives from others that were wearing us down (work, bad friends/relationships, our inner selves) and make change happen for the positive. We all needed some Purification and Banning Negativity Spray from Fragrant Soul. Until next year.......aaahhhhmmmmm.....
